Newborn Photo Session - Newborn session is for six weeks or younger, preferably within the first two weeks when baby is sleepy and easily moldable. I capture mother and child moments (father too if desired), newborn details (feet, toes, hands, etc.), and soft sleepy poses. Parents should come dressed with dark long sleeve shirts.
3 Month Old Photo Session - This is a choice time as baby can now hold head up and even smile. The cute clothes you received as gifts finally fit so I like to do a few outfit changes (if baby will let us). I focus on baby details, full body, and headshots, mother and baby too if desired. If we tucker baby out we can get some great sleep time shots.
9 Month Old Photo Session - Can be a little sooner if desired, but nine months is a great time as baby is now sitting up and probably crawling. This is my favorite time for bathtub shots, baby legs, and sitting against a fun backdrop. I like to capture baby details, full body shots, headshots, crawling, sitting, and beautiful baby eye images.
1 Year Old Photo Session - IT'S A PARTY! I like to capture a formal portrait first, next we have a party complete with balloons, a cake to smush and eat, and party favors (hats, etc.). A few outfit changes work well at this point. I like to mix up backdrops and props a few times as well.
Optional Maternity Photo Session - This is one of my favorite moments in time to capture because there are so many raw emotions portrayed in a mother's face; hope, anticipation, excitement, anxiety, and love. Sessions are best scheduled around the eighth month of pregnancy but a little sooner or later will also work. I like to encourage a spouse or child to join in the celebration for a few pictures. As not everyone wants a maternity session, this is optional. However, it is a choose it or lose it deal. No prints, product, credits, discounts, or sessions can be used in place of the maternity session discount.
Each session typically lasts approximately 60 minutes. However, the unpredictable nature of babies can cause a session to go longer or shorter. Plan on anywhere from about 45 to 90 minutes per photo session. Sessions typically take place at my in-home studio in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, I will travel to your house if you would like.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS for Baby's First Year Photography Series: Discount of $20 will be given when paid in full at the first session. Optionally, payment can split into four equal payments of $80 each. No refunds will be given for choosing to skip one of the sessions. However, you can choose to come in at any stage i.e. 1 month, 4 months, 7 months, 1 year. Baby's First Year Photography Series is for the baby. To have additional siblings join in on some photos is $15 per child. $80 print credit ($20 per session) can only be applied toward the Baby's First Year Photography Series. Credit will accrue if not used after each session. Frame will be given after final session and will include three 5x5 prints of my choosing. A paneled frame with four 5x5 openings (and four prints) instead of three can be substituted for an additional $30.
